How many times in a day or week do you say, "Wow! That was a coincidence!" or "What a surprise to see you here!" I know I have. Even non-believers toy briefly with the idea that a "chance" meeting is more than meets the eye but they soon dismiss it. Sadly, we do too.

Anytime God brings together two believers we should look for the good, purposeful intent of God. Perhaps your brother needs encouragement, or unity in a prayer, or a reminder of a scripture. He may just need to know he is not alone. Look for the reasons why God brought you together and honor Him in your unity. The Lord is known to come, listen and minister when two or more of us are together.

The scriptures say some remarkable things about a man's path. Most memorable is this verse, "The steps of a [good] man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way." (Psalm 37, KJV) If this is the case, God must plot the paths of all righteous man, weaving their lives together with a purpose. Don't brush off a "chance" encounter as coincidence, acknowledge God's purpose.

What would happen if you and I practiced this during 2012? We'd have a year without coincidence but a year of divine purpose!
