For those familiar with Jacob's story in Genesis, you might be tempted to say, "He got what he deserved." He was after all, a complete moral failure, tricking his father, stealing from his own brother, plotting with his mother. But, despite these flaws, he was God's chosen, the father of a nation, Israel. Jacob must have felt as if he was "getting what he deserved." Remorse, regret, guilt--these feelings will keep us frozen in place even in dangerous situations.
How many of us do the same thing? Make a mistake or a series of mistakes then willingly endure the punishment inflicted upon us by the enemy?Like the Laban of the Bible, you can expect trickery from Laban. He'll make a "deal" with you saying, "I'll give you this, if you do this." Never believe him! He means you harm. He can't receive the favor of God but can steal your blessings, if you let him.
Dear ones, you must break free from your Laban and that freedom begins in your heart. Forgive yourself, ask God to forgive you and get moving! Don't lose another moment of your life serving Laban. Do as Jacob did, look towards the promise of God and move away from the Labans in your life!
