Martha and Mary both adored Jesus, but it was their attitude towards their personal faith that set them apart from one another. Martha chose to serve God practically, doing the work of the ministry in a grounded, "keep your eyes on the road" fashion. Mary embraced the spiritual side of her faith, clinging to the physical manifestation of Jesus, enjoying the words of heaven as they poured out of the Master.

In today's faith world, Martha would be praised for her "years in the ministry," her steadfastness and devotion to the saints. But what would we say about Mary? "She's too heavenly minded!" or "She's really out there!" Yet, Jesus chose not to scold her and instead defended Mary's choice, encouraging Martha to do the same.

Today, I want to encourage you to remember the spirituality of your faith. Don't run from it or try to understand it. Be "out there," like Mary, for one day and see what happens. Dare to daydream about the kingdom of God. Let the practical things fall to the way side for the day. Consider recent dreams or visions that God has given you. Remember the beginnings of your faith and be renewed. He is the God who held back the sun, walks through walls and has the ability to become small enough to live in our hearts -- He is a Supernatural God and He has made you a supernatural being.

Look for Him outside the practical paths today. Expect to see Him in the stars, in your prayer closet, standing beside you. Be creative in your seeking. Be "out there" and watch what happens!
