Never get too busy for personal time alone with God. It’s easy to get so busy with the “work of God” that you forget the “God of the work.” Your personal relationship with Him must be maintained at the highest level. There are always distractions. When you refuse to slow down, your enemy will always multiply your activities, leaving no time to maintain a quality relationship with God.

Learn to say, “I’m sorry, but I’m not able to do what you’re asking.” Remain focused on areas most important to you, and your family. The price of supplementing “good works” for time alone with God is detrimental to so many areas of life. Nothing takes the place of quiet time alone with God.

These special moments build intangibles in us that produce qualities necessary for success in this journey of life. Perhaps it’s time to prioritize again our “to do” list. Refuse to give God time that is left over after everything else has been completed. Put Him first, and give your best time to God. It’s a decision you will never regret.
