How significant are the simple things that occur in every day life? In the Kingdom of God, even a bird, or a donkey, can be a faithful messenger.
We may look for a hailstorm or an earthquake to speak to us but God often uses the mundane things of life. For Peter, who heard three rooster crows, as prophesied by the Master -- two crows were warnings, the third was heartbreaking confirmation. What regret, what sadness Peter experienced after that third sound! If Jesus' own words weren't enough of a warning, God sent a humble barnyard rooster to send a message that has stretched across time. That's how much He cared for Peter and wanted to prevent devastation from entering his life.
Beloved, pay attention to the ordinary sounds of life. Don't dismiss warnings and Spirit- nudges because they don't come from a burning bush. Don't ignore your spouse or a dear friend. Listen for the rooster's crow and make changes in your path to prevent unnecessary destruction. God is faithful!
