Paul, the writer of Romans chapter 8, encourages us to be under the influence of the Spirit--an especially good reminder for Christians living in these turbulent times. Paul's crowd was making decisions while under the influence of the spirit of fear and their own strong, sinful desires. Today, things haven't changed much. There are still unholy influences that affect our decisions but this is not what God wants for us or needs from us.

God wants us to live under the influence of His Spirit. As He directs His Spirit, He weaves through our lives with threads of grace, thankfulness and love--fruits of His Spirit. As the Spirit guides us, we also knit these fruits through the lives of others, making them hungry, in turn, for our Master.

By supernatural nature, the Spirit-influenced life influences the world, bringing salt and light to the dark, hungry masses. Oh loved of God, He desires for you to live and move and breath by His Spirit. Do nothing without first consulting Him. The Revealer of Truth, the King of Favor, will bestow on you an unforgettable life in exchange for listening to and obeying His Spiritual Counselor.

Be under the influence--and be encouraged!
